At the request of the Forum for Democracy, the government has made a number of documents public through the World Economic Forum (WEF). Among the documents is a letter to the D66 leader Sigrid Kaag. MEP Pepijn van Houwelingen (FVD) published the letter on social media.

With the letter dated July 1, 2020, Kaag is invited to the 51st edition of the WEF in Davos, Switzerland. Borge Brende, President of the WEF since 2017, writes that the talks will focus on politics for the post-Corona era, with the topic of the “Great Reset”.

“As you co-chair the WEF Global Action Group and are a member of the Middle East and North Africa Regional Action Group, your contribution to the work of the Great Reset at the annual meeting is crucial,” said Brende. “Your participation in the Davos consultations also ensures that the Netherlands will play an important role in shaping the future of the global trading system.”

“The forum will work with your staff to ensure that by participating you are playing an important role in shaping the Great Reset,” writes Brende to Kaag.

The document evokes a lot of reactions. “Oh yes, Sigrid Kaag always screams that you have to take action against disinformation and fake news about Corona. The “Great Reset” was a conspiracy, wasn’t it?

Journalist Annelies Strikkers adds: “And MPs keep stressing that they have no idea what the terms The Great Reset and Build Back Better mean. Evidence of (some form of) betrayal is seeping through ”.

It is time for parties other than the forum to raise the question of the cabinet’s relationship with the WEF so that the coalition can create clarity. There is far too much distrust among large groups of citizens about the importance of the international “Great Reset”, says Telegraaf reporter Wierd Duk.
