Three young soccer players have died of a heart attack in the past five days. They are the Croatian Marin Cacic, Mukhaled Al-Raqadi from Oman and Soufiane Lokar from Algeria.
Croatian soccer player Marin Cacic, 23, died on December 23, three days after he collapsed in training and was placed in an artificial coma. He was diagnosed with heart failure in the hospital. Cacic played for NK Nehaj Sinj, Isernia FC and NK Trnje Zagreb, among others.
Omani international Mukhaled Al-Raqadi died on December 22nd after collapsing while warming up. The 29-year-old Muscat Club defender suffered a heart attack and was rushed to hospital by ambulance.
The Algerian star footballer Sofiane Lokar (30) suffered a heart attack and died during the game on Christmas Day. In the 35th minute he fell to the ground.

Never before have so many footballers collapsed or died on the pitch. On average, nine footballers die of a heart attack each year. This year there are already 18, so twice as many.
Former professional soccer player Matt Le Tissier had previously requested an investigation. He said he had never seen a player with heart problems during his career.
